Natskallen is hand thrown thinly of English stoneware clay. The decoration consists of three to four layers of slipping (clay dye). The slipping is layered using a wide brush. In this way the artist achieves depth in the decoration. The dry expression of the outside contrasts with the dark iron glazing on the inside of the form. The bowl is fired at 1280 degrees centigrade. The glazing is non-toxic and impervious to water. Every single bowl is hand thrown with the utmost care and has its own individual expression.
