A fine example of an early 50's Catalina Swimsuit. This cute and sexy suit features an elasticized ruched front, sides and back. Elasticized shirring is captured on all front, side and back seams giving it some vertical stretch while the Celanese fabric gives the suit horizontal stretch. Perfect to mold to all your curves. Front of bodice has a ruffle at the top and a modesty panel at the bottom. Adjustable halter neck strap with metal slides. Swimsuit features a back metal zipper with hook and eye closures at the inner placket. The bust is lined and has side stays, no bust padding.The crotch is lined with plastic which could be removed if desired as it has become a bit stiff. Embroidered label reads Catalina a California Creator, styled for the Stars of Hollywood. Los Angeles, Made in USA. Another label reads Celanese, Acetate Fabric.
