The design and materials of this early 1970’s Geoffrey Beene black wool dress evoke a sophisticated bohemian mood, mixed with a “military” simplicity. Known for his attention to detail and use of high quality materials, this dress epitomizes Mr. Beene’s craftsmanship with its heavyweight black wool trimmed with metallic gold and black velvet braid. The waist is slightly high and gathered and the long sleeves are puffed at the shoulder. The dress opens with a back zipper and is lined (except for the sleeves) in black organza.
