As part his Autumn/Winter collection for 2008-09, Gaultier incorporated cages into coats, capes, dresses, skirts and even the feature bride wore a spectacular white and silver cage veil held on with elaborate helmet-like headgear. “I have no intention to seriously put women in cages. My models are birds of paradise. They can remove the cages and fly,” Gaultier said On a practical note, I wonder what happens when one sits in such a dress.

These shoes are part of a collection of artist-decorated Terry de Havilland wedges. The shoes are collectively called F*ck Me! Shoes . The collection was auctioned off 2 years ago to benefit the Chelsea Arts Club Trust, Trinity Hospice and Artists General Benevolent Institution in England. The shoes were all hand painted and beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail and the themes ranged from The Beatles, skulls, sex postures, insects, faces and cigarettes.

Jewelry Design Week (the jewelry world’s equivalent of fashion week) was celebrated in London from June 11 to June 15. The event, the first of its kind celebrated in the the British capital, was attended by top designers, artists, celebrities and British royalty who gathered to take in the glamorous collections. High-end, luxury crystal giant Swarovski participated in the event extravaganza with a very diverse collection of crystal-encrusted attires that were quirky, ethereal, fantastic, gothic, mythical and very glittery. Top designers such as Theo Fennell, Stephen Webster, Shaun Leane and a cadre of new talent converged to stage events across London to showcase their latest creations with gold, diamonds, platinum and other precious stones gleaming at every show. This is quite a visual treat.
