The Ocarina is handcrafted by local Peruvian artists. No two Ocarinas are exactly the same as they are individually handmade. An Ocarina (Clay Flute) is a wind instrument dated back to 3,500 A.D. The Incas and other native tribes use Ocarinas for ritual ceremonies, agricultural festivities, war dances and to communicate from one tribe to another. Each tribe had its own tuning. The Ocarina has a mouth piece and finger holes. As you seal the mouthpiece with your lips, blow as if you are blowing bubbles. Cover the holes in different combination to hear a delightful sound. The sound of the Ocarina is haunting, rich and unique. This Ocarina Flute Pendant Necklace measures about 18 inches in length.
