Pantone is is the world-renowned authority on color, so what they say goes. Their Fall color report is actually really interesting, it even has designers like Tracey Reese, Nanette Lepore and Catherine Malandrino's color palette and inspiration for their upcoming collections. The hot colors for Fall are as exotic and have a lot of culinary influences in them. The colors range from browns all the way down to purples. Starting at the top, here are the colors to follow this Fall: Carafe (deep espresso brown), Burnt Ochre (autumn orange), Chili Pepper, Stargazer (deep teal blue), Shale Green ligher green with a touch of blue/green), Dusk (dusty gray with blue tint), Green Moss, Lemon Curry, Cashmere Rose, and Purple Wine.
"Yes, plaid is going to be quite popular this fall. Large plaid, mind you not tiny plaid. Youll find it on trousers, Bermudas, skirts, and dresses havent seen any plaid on tops yet, but that is also a possibility. Second big trend Ive seen so far is the silky, satinish fabric. Also known as Polyester. We saw a little of it last season, but its going to be heavy on tunics and blouses in the fall. This silk tunic gives you a good idea of the look and feel of the fabric- My only contention against this fabric is that it looks too much like lingerie. What do you think?"
