The excitement was brewing while walking the path of rose petals from the elevator down the long white corridor to Nuj Novakhett's presentation. The emerging young designer revealed her second collection, again bringing her praised architecture inspired themes to life. Novakhett graduated from a political university in Thailand, but headed to Parsons to follow her obvious passion. In her spring/summer 2006 collection, she brought Thai architecture and culture into her collection and the latest fall 2006, her inspiration came from Moscow's famous domes of St. Basil's Cathedral and the church of Suzdal. Not only was culture reflected in her designs, but in her fabrics as well. "I used blends luxe fabrics, such as paper silk from India and fabric make from Swedish tree-bark," Novakhett told FashionLedge. "This collection is about Audrey Hepburn (her muse), architecture, layers, rooftops, dusty colors and is based on feeling."
