If I could add one item to my home and cost was of no object, it would be an authentic Arne Jacobson Egg Chair. The iconic chair came to fame in the 1950’s when Jacobson designed the chair for the lobby of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. I was reminded of how far the chair has come while still retaining its original futuristic lines and heritage when Desire to Inspire highlighted it in a blog the other day.

Just after making his degree in architecture at the University of Aachen he was asked by the Reuter Company to design plastic furniture. A lot of his designs date from this period (1968 - 1972) like the characteristic "Egg". In 1972 Peter Ghyczy created his own company Ghyczy Selection. " Because of the conservative attitude of manufacturers I decided to take control of the production and distribution. " The result is a timeless collection for the upper end of the furniture market. The combination of classical ideas with innovative, modern techniques creates an exceptional position in the world of interior decorating.
