DIYthing interview Ramona West this week. We noticed one bag in particular Brooklyn. This unique pleated clutch features colorful doors of a brownstone building. It is our favorite. We asked Ramona if there was a story that went along with this bag. Ramona: I came across this fabric in a vintage store and it reminded me of New York, where I am from. I now live in California so it was just a bit nostalgic. This piece is one-of-a-kind.
Come back in time with me a moment, to the days of paper dolls and cut and paste when our minds ran free with no worries. Yaels creations reminds me of those days, she is inspired by shapes that she sees everyday around her, buildings, pictures in magazines and people. Yael creates her designs by cutting out shapes in magazines and paper that she carefully positions to create her designs. They are then accented with a marker to create the details.
