Iittala Birds have become a global phenomenon. It all started in the early 1970s when the Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka designed the first glass birds. While Oiva Toikka continues adding new birds to his collection, Iittala is also introducing a new generation of Iittala Birds in 2007, designed by the Italian artist and jewellery designer, Giorgio Vigna. The Vigna Collection is refined and sculptural.

Tiny and chic, this Mor Petite candle could wow even Marie Antoinette. Visions of paper parasols, exotic birds, flowering trees and the subdued light of the setting sun come to mind with one sniff of this Mor fragrance. A seductive overlay of ylang ylang and narcissus harmonizes with floral notes of peony flower, muguet, violet, green moss, orchid and sandalwood.

Tatebanko is the forgotten Japanese art of creating amazing dioramas and scenic perspectives from paper. Tatebanko was popular and widely admired from the 17th century (Edo period) to the early 20th century. Then it all but disappeared. Its a Beautiful Day has now revived and reinterpreted this simple and elegant Japanese art with two new paper craft kits. The kits feature the works from two famed Edo artists Hiroshiges Kambara, Evening Snow and Hokusais The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Beautifully designed and printed in Japan with elegant metallic accents, the kits are nicely packaged A4 size and make a diorama that is 7 1/2 W x 3 1/2 D x 4 7/8 H. Each kit has a playful secret and interesting details that make assembly fun. With these kits, Tatebanko will undoubtedly enjoy a well-deserved renaissance.

Manufacturer: Point a la Ligne, France. Description: We don't usually go for the whole "is it a pastry? no, it's a candle!" thing, but these macaroon candles were hard to pass up. Delicate and decadent to the last flicker, their daintiness rivals that of the real thing. Give them as gifts, leave out lit clusters of them at parties or horde them all to yourself.
