This tiered 1950's or early 60's crinoline slip is made of two layers: an top layer of pale blue sheer nylon with a band of peach lace at the edge of each tier, and an under layer of opaque pale blue nylon. The waist is elastic. This is a soft crinoline, meaning that it will give a flared or full skirt some shape (and keep it from clinging to your legs), but it will not stiffly hold out a full circle skirt. The round neckline is trimmed with flat bow, and the wide waistband is split at the center front. The blouse is fitted with bust darts, and fastens in back with pink plastic buttons. The short sleeves are cuffed. The silk fabric is quite fine, very lightweight, like lingerie or a silk scarf. The blouse is unlined, and it appears to be in mint condition. NWT white cotton lace 1950's wiggle cocktail dress. The crisp, white cotton lace is in pristine, never worn condition on this 50's wiggle dress. The streamlined, fitted shape has darts at the bust and waist, and two tiny pleats on each side of the waist in the front of the skirt. The curving neckline is quite pretty, and the self-fabric belt cinches the dress at the waist. The dress closes with a side metal zipper. A back kick pleat in the narrow skirt makes walking a bit easier. The lace is obviously quite sheer, so the dress will need a slip underneath it. You can have fun choosing a slip color: flesh tone, for a nearly nude look, white for the more demure and ladylike, or a deeper color to show off the design of the lace.
