I feel like this shoe was designed for me! My mom got me a pair of "chukka boots" when I was little, and I've missed them my whole life (why, why did my feet have to grow?). How cool are these lace-up boots? The sole curves right up onto the squared-off toe of the boot for a totally unique look (and it probably doesn't hurt to have it if you're prone to stubbed toes the way I am). Very interesting aesthetic vibe, I think.
