Couture Lab Bowl
The wood acquired for Ernst Gamperl's sculptures are from fallen trees that could no longer stand against natural conditions. The lifeless copper beech wood has been lathe-turned and sanded to create a smooth textured bowl. The interior of the bowl has been beeswax treated enhancing the wood's unusual deep black grain. The tactile exterior of the bowl has been washed with water and sand, giving it a 'suede' feel.
