In We Bop Bebop, the 1950’s jazz culture and Latin dances like the mambo and cha-cha-cha were my inspiration. These dances, with their accents on sensuous hip movements and shimmying shoulders, are played up in the voluptuous legs and the heart-shaped seats and backs. Like in 1950's fashion, the hourglass figure emphasizes the feminine nature of these chairs. These chairs are made from Koto and fabric.

Ruth Apter's small animal sculpture reflects her influence by the spirit of Inuit art and southwest Native American fetishes. Each piece is fired in Ruth's custom made kiln at 1850 to 1950 degrees and then smoked or reduction fired in sawdust, leaves and horses oats. The crackle and copper glazes are a wondrous result of this exciting and somewhat dangerous process.
