TJ Horst was born February 23, 1971 in Akron, Ohio, and currently resides in the Akron area. Art had always been a part of Horst's life. He was constantly exploring various mediums, progressing in its various realms. In high school, Horst experimented with photography, painting, and sculpture, building a grand portfolio. His pieces won a variety of awards from various shows, including Scholastics. His artwork also led him to the Maryland Institute College of Art, gaining scholarships to strengthen his education.

These Flame Jackets will definitely get you noticed! Each one is made to be roomy, allowing you to wear the bulkiest sweaters underneath. They are perfect for the cold weather! The large collar can be turned downward and 'trained' to stay by dampening with warm/hot water, carefully pinning in place, and letting it air dry. Front button closure makes this garment a snap to get on. What's also great about these garments is that if it isn't snug enough, the button's thread can be cut, and the button can be moved over and re-sewn on for a better fit. (Additional instructions for moving and sewing buttons are included in the shipment.)

Horsts love of art led him to the Maryland Institute College of Art, and then Kent State in 1990 where he obtained a B.A. in art education, and then acquired his M.A. at Kent State University in 2003. During this time, Horst found a new medium to experiment with, one that he found a love for. Felting became the key to his expression, designing garments that became increasingly more elaborate in design and thought with each created piece.
