When paperclay is fired, some of the paper pulp burns away leaving a lightweight yet strong ceramic structure behind. This allows the porcelain-paperclay paper plates to be nearly as light as the actual paper plates. Also, to ensure everyday porcelain wear and tear, each of the plates are glazed on both sides."

Handmade by English ceramic designer Polly George in rural Kent. No two pieces are the same and unique differences are part of their charm. All products are designed and handcrafted by Polly George in her country workshop in the picturesque Kent village of Shipbourne. Using carefully sourced materials, the products are slip cast. The pure and simple white shapes, which are Polly's trademark, are then individually stamped or alternatively decorated with bows, butterflies and roses, all applied by hand. Once fired in the pottery studio, the items are hand-dipped giving each piece its own individual appeal.
