In creating my three-dimensional ceramic art sculptures I explore botanical life forms focussing on the variety of colours and surfaces that can be seen in the plant world. I also create and frame two-dimensional ceramic art work, the inspiration for which comes from the sea and shoreline. Handmade by English ceramic designer Polly George in rural Kent. No two pieces are the same and unique differences are part of their charm. All products are designed and handcrafted by Polly George in her country workshop in the picturesque Kent village of Shipbourne. Using carefully sourced materials, the products are slip cast. The pure and simple white shapes, which are Polly's trademark, are then individually stamped or alternatively decorated with bows, butterflies and roses, all applied by hand. Once fired in the pottery studio, the items are hand-dipped giving each piece its own individual appeal.
