Cape collars on dresses and jackets were a popular design in the early 1930's, and this black crepe "capelet" with silver glass beading dates from that period. It may have been worn originally with a plain black crepe dress (or attached to one), but it will add a touch of elegance and evening glamour to any dress, vintage or modern. The capelet ties in front. The areas next to the ties and all around the outer edge are thickly covered in rows of silvered glass bugle beads. In between the rows of bugle beads are squiggles made of tiny round glass beads. The back of the capelet is unlined, so you can see the threads holding the beadwork on, which in one area are discolored (the threads only--not visible on the front side). This is the only issue with the capelet, which is in very good condition. It will drape over the edge of the shoulders when worn, and has a cute "V" cutout in the center back.

Incredible vintage 1950s skirt suit by Rothmoor was sold by the Berg Style Shop in Huron, S. Dakota. (Dont ask me how it got to Boston!) This suit is exquisitely tailored, as all Rothmoor suits and coats are. It is fashioned from a tropical weight wool in a soft brown fleck tweed. The jacket is belted and buttons at the front with grey carved plastic buttons and bound buttonholes. Angled flapped pockets are found at the hips. The best thing about the jacket is the hidden button under the collar at the shoulder. You use them to button on the matching cape! The cape is seamed at the shoulders to match the seams of the jacket armhole so it drapes properly. Both the jacket and the cape are fully lined in brown rayon crepe. The straight skirt has a set-on waistband and side metal zipper. It has angled darts on the outside of the skirt front for a decorative detail. The skirt is unlined.

Prairie skirt is full enough for a crinoline or two, with ruffle tiers front and back, plain sides, fabric belt is included. The blouse has 3/4 sleeves and a dart-fitted waist and is meant to always be tucked in, as its pinked and un-hemmed. The blouse measures 40 inches in the bust, 30 inches in the waist, and 23 inches long. The skirt is 27 inches in the waist, 30 inches long. New-old stock with tags, never worn and in mint condition.
