The runways certainly showed this trend, notably front-runners Prada and Miu Miu who went gangbusters with the fabric. The latter even took the satin to the soles, showing color-blocked shoes, like the purple and champagne heel above. Other exemplary offerings were seen at Phillip Lim and Lanvin, both above.
Right now loads of ladies are bringing satin front and center by wearing dresses in either jewel tones (like Lindsay Lohan, far left, in pink, and Mandy Moore, far right, in royal blue) or dark neutrals (brown and grey in particular). Neutrals look especially fresh when you add a rich-colored accessorylike Margherita Missonis red shoes, above, with her gold frock. Its no surprise that the stylish-beyond-her-years Camilla Belle knocked this look out of the ballpark at a recent fashion show, when she showed up in this saffron Vera Wang ($2350, net-a-porter.com).
