Page Candler's face vases are hand built from slabs of clay. After the initial form is cut, free-hand, the details are pinched into the surface. The vessels are then fired, glazed, and fired again. This vase is 13 inches high and 3⅝ inches at the widest point of the base. In addition to eyes, nose and a mouth, there are subtle, leafy embellishments too delicate to show in the photograph.
