Blessing Fashion Accessories

Made by the nomadic Barabaig people of central Tanzania, this scarf emulates the beaded fringe that adorns the front of their cloaks. The leather is cut by hand with a knife over the base of a dried gourd; the brass accents are double Lion’s Eye rings (Gunida), the traditional emblem of the Barabaig. You might loop this exquisite scarf around your neck, drape it over your shoulder, or tie it around your waist. Fair-trade sales provide food during droughts and schooling for Barabaig children. BLESSING -Pure white, the color of the Rotagenga clan. 70" long. Story card included.
