Camiguin comes from the native word “Kamagong”. Kamagong is family of Ebony three that thrives near Lake Mainit (Hot Lake) in the Provnce of Surigao del Norte.
“Manobos” are the name called for the inhabitants of Camiguin who migrated from Surigao as well.
Camiguin was originally construction and known as “Kinamiguin”, which word has been created originally by Monobos.
