Sunday I went to Saks because of their crazy sale - 40% plus another 50% if you use your Saks card! My fiance and I only went because he wants a tux, but the Armani style he's been eyeing wasn't on sale. What's a gal to do? I checked out the contemporary floor and snagged amazing black Milly pants for $100 and a wonderfully draped Alice+Olivia skirt in a black/navy color for $80.

Dear Bagistas, It was a crazy week of flying, handbags, and fun. Now that Im back from Florida and well rested, I wanted to catch up and share thoughts on the many previews Ive attended over the past week. On Tuesday I had the pleasure of checking out the Spring-Summer 2009 collections from two of my favorite lines - Mary Norton and MCM. Mary was first at 9am. I love coming in to see her (we get to see each other about four times a year in NY, though Im forever promising to come by her shop and headquarters in South Carolina.) Shes a true lady, always prim and proper, well quaffed, tailored skirt. The first time we met, Marys left arm was in a sling never has any woman looked chicer in a sling. Chic in a Sling that should be a trend piece :) and we can see how many gals can really pull it off. But, I digress - as usual.

Dear Bagistas, Im so excited that The Starter Wife is coming back for another season. I think the show is amazing and I personally believe that the execs originally saw it as a one-time special. But Debra Messing is amazing in this show, as is the rest of the cast. Cant wait to see what happens when it goes back on USA Networks this Friday. I do know that handbag designer Lauren Merkin has gotten in on the buzz behind this show by crafting the Molly clutch, named after Messings character on the show Molly Kagan. USA Networks and Debra Messing actually worked with Lauren Merkin to come up with the perfect shape genius promotion for all!

Last night I caught the Diesel Swim Fashion Show which had a collegiate, sporty inspiration mixed in with a hint of 80s flare. The color scheme was black, white, silver and an occasional dash of color. Some the looks took their cue from sports jerseys, and while Im not a sporty gal, I like the sexy-meets-sporty look Diesel was going for.

After the Tibi show came the Tommy Bahama presentation, which was a perfect swim-oriented runway. The tent was on the beach and it was clear so you could see the sky. All the models walked barefooted along a sandy runway. Plus, the press gift was a big blue and orange Tommy Bahama beach towel - practical and on theme! As for the swimwear, here are my thoughts.

The final show on Friday was Custo Barcelona and it was definitely my favorite or a close tie for favorite with Saturdays Red Carter show. This was Custos first complete swimwear collection, and what a way to start. All items bikinis, beachwear and accessories will be available at the Custo Barcelona store (including the one in NYCs SOHO area) and fine shops around the world. At this show I had front-row seating which was wonderful and I was right next to the photography pit tre exciting considering I focus mostly on bags.

Move over Judith Leiber. Swarovski is poised to become the next big player in evening bags. Although only in the bag business for about fifteen years, Swarovski has evolved into a fashion-forward brand on trend with colors and silhouettes.
