Andy Warhol’s pioneering Pop Art defined a decade and a culture, distinguishing him as one of the most influential, creative and prolific artists of the 20th century. Originally the most sought-after commercial artist in New York, Warhol (1923 – 1987) is most known for his multiple images of Campbell’s Soup cans, Coke bottles, dollar bills and celebrities, which exalted the beauty within ordinary objects and familiar images. Working out of a studio called The Factory, he invented the silkscreening process which enabled him to mass produce a single image in his signature style. Warhol was also a talented filmmaker, music producer, commercial illustrator, author and magazine publisher.

These shoes are part of a collection of artist-decorated Terry de Havilland wedges. The shoes are collectively called F*ck Me! Shoes . The collection was auctioned off 2 years ago to benefit the Chelsea Arts Club Trust, Trinity Hospice and Artists General Benevolent Institution in England. The shoes were all hand painted and beautifully decorated with a lot of attention to detail and the themes ranged from The Beatles, skulls, sex postures, insects, faces and cigarettes.

Split Personality Sofa - The Hyde [Edit] Split Personality Sofa - The Hyde The Split Personality Sofa was inspired by The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This of course is the novella which vividly portrays the psychopathology of a split personality. The Hyde sofa, designed by Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano students Pablo Crespo and Martin and Isaac Franzene Pineiro, shows its own complexity with the alternation of light and shadow. During the day, the Hyde is a square, uninspiring, simple gray sofa without any frills but at night, this same sofa lights up and turns into a beautiful and elegant piece of furniture that can literally light up a living room. Great creativity and inspiration.

Deyrolle is the Oldest Existing Taxidermy Business in Europe and is housed in a fine 17th century Hôtel Particulier. William was allowed to move the larger specimens about as he wished to compose his photographs and made four visits there in July 2005 to make images. A week after he left, the entire second floor was remodeled. Worse: On February 1, 2008, Deyrolle was ravaged by fire and the animals shown in his photographs as well as most of its decor were destroyed. The photographs are now categorically unique and can never be re staged.
