artist statement: The materials that I use are simple objects from another age. They are domestic tools and carry the imprint of the work that they have done. They evoke the time period of their origin. The style and design is clearly an important element. I believe that every object has its power. I use very humble objects in my work. Who would have thought that ice cube trays could find another life tracing the passage of time? My work elevates them to the level of art.
