Made from Ikat silk and hand-quilted, this piece takes its patterns from 19th Century antique Ikats. Woven in Samarkand, Shiraz and Istanbul, every patterned piece is then individually hand-crafted in London using luxurious silks and tradition couture techniques. Ikat is a style of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft before the threads are woven to create a pattern or design. These textiles reached a high point in production and popularity in nineteenth century Central Asia.

Let's face it, anoraks may be practical but they will never be cool! So here's the answer, direct from the swinging sixties: the retrodome umbrella. The cover is made from strong PVC with see-through portholes on every panel. The shaped ribs are solid tubular wire which is more resilient than flat ribs as any inward pressure from the wind will cause them to compress and simply spring back into shape. Umbrella measures 82cm long, the full diameter when open is approx 79cm. Colour: black. Also available in pink, grey and red.
