Offered for sale is an early 1960's navy blue dress with matching jacket. This set could be considered a cocktail outfit or just a special occasion outfit. The color is a medium navy blue and the fabric feels like a linen/silk blend. The dress has a set-in waist with corded trim and two little side bows. There's hidden slit pockets right in the front of the belled shirt. It is sleeveless with short caps, round neckline and closes in the back with a long metal zipper. The jacket is short box style with long sleeves, lay back collar and a one button closing in the front. The button is a huge fabric covered with a loop to close. The dress is not lined but the jacket has a perfect silky smooth navy blue lining.

One of the better examples of 60s nostalghia for the 20s--flappers, fitzgerald, clara bow, jazz babies--& all that. Preceding by less than a decade the early 70s fascination for all things 30s, then 40s, then 50s--whereto & wherefrom we now reference & re-reference, like a trompe l'oeill painting of a painting of a painting of a painting..... Where will it all stop? I wonder about this sometimes, especially as we are running out of late 20C decades. Perhaps not as sexy as what would accompany the soon-to-be-then's Ossies, tho certainly a better evocation of Twiggy & her era would be difficult to find.

Itd be here, languishing among some even finer brethren.
