Five Twenty One Design is a self-taught, learn-as-we-go design studio formed in 1999 in NYC by Chris Ferebee and Laurice Parkin. This "learn-as-we-go" aspect allows us to approach design freely and discover new ideas, very often quite accidentally. Many of our designs are self-initiated projects which affords us the freedom of experimentation to create something that truly excites us. Along with that, we believe in the individuality of design - to be able to look at design from a different perspective or reference point, or even a different way of defining an object's final use. Ultimately, we strive to create a solution, whether self-initiated or commissioned, meeting the demands of the client/project in a poetic and functional way.
