VINTAGE BERMUDA JB

Description

This one-of-a-kind vintage Jeannie Bouchever (Essex, CT) Bermuda Bag is just fantastic. This type of wooden handle purse, which was popular in the forties and then again in the late sixties to the early preppy eighties, features an interchangeable outer fabric. The buttons are a lovely Moonglow Lucite, which mimic Mother of Pearl. The wooden handle is in great condition, as well as the fabric and fabric lining. It is in near perfect condition. There is a tiny dime sized darker spot on the back, but with the dark blue navy fabric, it is barely noticeable. I have not attempted to clean this purse at all, so you may be able to remove it with a little soap and water. The owl image is hand painted and signed, making this a true one-of-a-kind gem! It measures approximatley 10.75" x 11" including the handle, with a 1.5" gusset.
