Vintage 40s MILGRIM Navy Wool Gabardine Suit Medium bust 39" at Couture Allure Vintage Clothing
Description
Sally Milgrim was a famous designer who had several stores across the country. She was one of the first to use celebrities in her advertisements and she made inaugural gowns for 3 First Ladies. This navy blue wool gabardine suit dates to the early 1940s. The jacket has the strong shoulder line of the time which is supported with cotton filled shoulder pads. The front of the jacket features angled seams that are accented with top stitching. The jacket closes with self-fabric buttons and bound buttonholes. There is no button or buttonhole at the waist so as to accomodate a belt. We’ve shown the jacket belted, but the belt shown is NOT included. The A-line skirt has a set-on waistband and side metal zipper. The jacket is completely lined in navy rayon crepe and the skirt is unlined.
