Versace Jeweled Bubble Skirt Dress, Italian Fall/Winter 1991 Italy The bodice sides cutaway on the diagonal from mid torso to stand collar at neck, the thigh length skirt formed into a bubble shape between the mauve silk waistband and the tight blue hem band, of pink tulle lined with chiffon, applied allover with pastel beads, strass and gem set glass stones in modernist geometric pattern outlined in black, size 6, labeled: Versace Couture In 1991, the same year this dress was designed, Gianni Versace created costumes for a production of Capriccio at the Royal Opera House, London. The modernist pattern on this dress is similar to the design appliqued on a panniered theater dress he made for that production.
