Sori Yanagi Butterfly Stool
Description
In 1957, Yanagi's Butterfly won the Gold Medal at the Milan Triennial and is considered to be one of the classics of furniture history.
The Butterfly stool is an extraordinary item for numerous reasons. It combines in a quite unique manner Far Eastern shapes with the plywood molding technique devised by Charles and Ray Eames. The softly curving silhouette of the two seating shells is reminiscent of the wings of a butterfly.
