Show Some Shoulder With Asymmetrical Ruffles!

    by Alex Gambardella

I have to say, ever since the asymmetrical trend once again reemerged last year, I keep thinking that it's only a matter of time before fashionistas change their minds and send it back to the reject pile of failed re-tried fads. But so far the whole one-shoulder look has only seemed to grow in popularity with the passing seasons... and now to keep things fresh, the trend is getting fancified with ruffles. Yup, one-shoulder ruffles. Sounds like a weird combination, but I gotta admit, the result is totally hot for spring and summer! After all, let's face it --as much as I was a skeptic, it's pretty genius because it combines three of the hottest trends: ruffles, asymmetry, and exaggerated shoulders. Put a trendy spin on your basic LBD with this silk version by Susana Monaco, or keep things fun and flirty for day with a one-shoulder ruffled romper! If you're game to try out this trend-on-trend-on-trend combo look, check out the slideshow for my favorite one-shoulder ruffled pieces!

Style World: Aussies Know How To Throw It In Neutral

    by Sydel Sakuma

Thumbing through the Aussie Stylediary pages, I noticed that a lot of really cute outfits were quite neutral in color. Down under, the palate may be very muted, but this international style screams posh as well as super feminine. Well, I don't know if it's because they're sick of bright colors from living in a perpetual summer, but throw some of those lovely beiges, greys, blacks, creams, taupes, and whites stateside! Check out seven Australian Stylediarists and their toned down pieces that would be sure to boost any wardrobe, in my slideshow!
