The Designer, Holly Anne Mitchell, was earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The University of Michigan and had a project to create a piece of jewelry without using any traditional materials: no metal, precious/semi-precious stones, etc. She chose Newspaper because of the Bright Colors and Rich Textural Patterns of the Sunday Comics.
