Designer Shelly Steffee is about achieving total sophistication in her collections of womens and eveningwear. This protege of Anne Klein, carries a torch for pristine, prim looks that come with impeccable tailoring. What's interesting about Steffee is when she let down her hair and goes a little nutty with the details. Perfect example is the coat pictured left and below. While the garment is built on the military template (yawn), Shelly gets crazy cool by adding a thick and fabulous saddle belt - wowee! Now, we're talking Shelly darling. Steffee also lets herself go on two other garments with details like quilted patterns and dechtable dickies (see below). However, the rest of her 2006 Fall collection is largely unsurprising, but certainly still refined.
