Patrick Robinson is staying positive. “It’s about this wonderful, new, fresh American optimism that’s in the air,” said Robinson of his presentation for the Gap, which drew a packed house, including unlikely Gap girl Carolina Herrera. Then again, Robinson stressed sophistication of the laid back sort for his superfresh lineup. So should Mrs. Herrera find herself in a dress-down mood come spring, perhaps a pair of smart silk khakis rolled at the ankle or a boyfriend blazer in chambray and jersey will strike her fancy.
