We bring to you Urushi lacquered wood bathroom collection that is the best example of emperor Jimmu’s excesses and also others in the royalty and nobility. The lacquer is green and environmentally friendly and is made from tree sap. The handmade wood tubs not only are smooth and silky, they will add an elegance to your bathrooms. It can stand temperatures of up to 800 degrees and the designer Yukio Hashimoto suggests you keep the tub in the garden or somewhere you can appreciate the beauty of nature and art.

    Rub-a-Dub-Dub In Your Tub!

    by Anna Yu

In these uncertain economical times, it's easy to be overtaken by worry and stress. Combat those feelings by making a day of pampering yourself, but why pay a spa hundreds of dollars when you can do it straight from home? It€™s easy! Just fill up your tub, add some mood lighting, and have a glass of bubbly (or two) to relax and make your troubles melt away. You can have a relaxing bath time without breaking your bank or running to the market. Try adding epsom salt with your favorite essential oils and finish burning all those nubby candles you have leftover from your last dinner party. If you€™re fresh out of everything, check out my SLIDESHOW for some of my favorite bath time items from the Hive!

Hive 5: Splish Splash I Was Taking the Ultimate Bath

    by Greta

Lately I have become somewhat of a hermit at night. My close friends were the first to take notice. And after a dozen or so rejected invitations to dinners and movies, how could they not? They were suspicious of my new time-consuming nighttime activity and questioned my whereabouts. But when I finally unveiled where I had been spending my evenings, it was a bit anti-climatic. No, there's no new boyfriend, no scandalous activities. I have simply become addicted to nightly baths. What was once a childhood activity filled with barbie dolls, laughter and candy scented bubble bath, has transformed into the perfect way for me to unwind after a long day. I love everything about baths, from the drawing of the water, to the smell of my lavender soap, to the way the whole bathroom turns into a sauna with steam. They are calming yet invigorating, and afterwards I feel oh so clean and refreshed! So, I scoured the Hive for items I would include in my perfect bath. My dream bathroom setting would be mostly romance-themed, but with whimsical accessories. I'm a fan of the modern style tubs, but my dream for claw-feat overpowers my desire for contemporary. My bath would also be sure to include an assortment of handmade organic soaps and scrubs, in a fun shapes and indulgent smells. So spoil your senses with a bath tonight! And be sure to check out my SLIDESHOW for some finds from the Hive that are sure to take bathtime to another level!
