Chimney Cleaning in Charlotte NC
Banish The Mop And Broom With The Mint Robot
by Anna Yu
Way back in January, a smart little gadget got my attention when it won the Popular Mechanics€™ Editor€™s Choice award for best new product at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Is it yet another iPhone killer? A flying car? Nope, the award went to Mint, a robot that cleans your floors. Yes, we've all heard of the Roomba, but this is way different. With Mint, you can attach wet or dry cloths such as ones by Swiffer and Mint will do the rest. With a sophisticated navigation system, Mint knows exactly where it's going and is smart enough to avoid rugs and other carpeted areas. When you attach a dry cloth, it picks up dust and hair. When using it in the wet mode, Mint has a motion to provide a deep clean on floors with dirt and grime. Mint isn't in stores yet, but pre-orders are available now. So instead of spending valuable time cleaning your floors, let Mint do all the work for you!
Designers Love Hand-Made Textile Pieces
by DIY thing
We recently fell in love with Fancy Picnic, a hot new company on the DIY scene. UK Designer Charlotte creates multi-textural pieces that will help you add those finishing touches to your favorite outfits. Charlotte loves working with gorgeous textiles, silken threads, luscious braids, vintage buttons and sparkly beads as she creates a variety of wearable jewelry. And the bright colors will spice up your late summer and fall outfits. We've also found some of our other favorite designers dishing up some tempting textile eye candy. Check out gorgeous necklaces by 7thMagpie, Shagpile, and Kirev8. And if you need an elegant neutral piece, All Things Pretty's "Once Upon A Time" necklace for $195 is a must see. This dreamy piece, made from layers of lace, vintage and antique, crocheted and tatted - it is a real work of art. Check out our slideshow for some more handmade designer textile pieces.
