Most parents these days will tell you that there isn't anything in the world they wouldn't do for their kids. Sometimes, these unconditional expressions enter the realm of gift-giving, and the high-end retailers know this better than anyone because I've seen more ridiculously overpriced children's gifts and toys this year than in any other. I don't even need to mention the current state of our economy to drive home my point that no child needs a crystal-encrusted piggy bank, a BMW Z4 Roadster, or a Swarovski tricycle, unless of course they're unnaturally motivated in their quest to appear on My Super Sweet Sixteen. I can't imagine a child even asking for one of these, but if they do, a word of advice- the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book? Not a bedtime story.
