Street Style Steal: Get Rachel's "Granny Chic" Look

Leaving my house in Laurel Heights, I caught this funky grandma wannabe for San Francisco's Street Style StyleDiary. Wearing both vintage and new, Rachel was mixing prints and textures to give the comfy layered look a not-so-senior-citizen type twist. A high waisted American Apparel pocketed skirt with a vintage western belt was cute and unexpected. Perfect for a day at the museum, her little blouse and scarf gave it all a touch of fun sophistication. But to tell you the truth, what I really loved was the rolled down scrunchy wool-like socks in heather grey with some cute bronze flats! I had forgotten those wonderful days of childhood comfort, and am now officially bringing it back (into my life, at least). To steal Rachel's vintage-like-grandma-used-to look check out my SLIDESHOW for some ideas to make vintage comfy again.

Street Style Steal: Swipe Jessica's "Casual Sophisticate" Look

It makes sense that those who run the coolest boutiques in San Francisco have the best personal style. Take Jessica, who was holding down the fort at My Roommate's Closet on Filmore Street, for example. She has a great way of wearing the latest trends without looking too forced. That takes skill. I've never understood the highwaisted jean trend, but Jessica had me believing with a pair of Judi Rosen skinnies. Pairing the jeans with a vintage Givenchy top in a shade of romantic pink, gold leaf earrings, and a stellar headband wrapped in mauve tulle, Jessica's look alone made me spend a few more minutes at MRC's racks! Check out my SLIDESHOW to discover how to get Jessica's casual sophisticate look; and make sure to check out the other fashionistas I come across while roaming the San Francisco streets on SF Street Style's Stylediary!
