Hot In The Hive: Tweezerman Holiday Edition Tweezers

This holiday season, give the gift of perfect brows (or at least the resources to achieve them) to your dearest beauty-obsessed friend. Tweezerman not only boasts the most popular tweezers known to man (a little on the pricey side but definitely worth the splurge!), but now in time for the holidays, the brow experts have just released a collection of limited edition tools, perfect for the makeup maven on your list. This particular winter-inspired style, the Polka Dot Slant Tweezers, are festively cute in red and white, and are encrusted with Swarovski crystals for that extra twinkle. If you're going to opt for a pair of high-end tweezers, you might as well go all out, right?

Hot In The Hive: Kate Spade Hand In Hand Mittens

If you're having a hard time justifying all the inevitably expensive holiday gift-shopping this year in light of our current economic state, how about opting for a present that truly gives back? Famed accessories brand Kate Spade has recently formed a partnership with Women for Women International known as the Hand In Hand program, which employs war survivors from Bosnia, giving them a chance to get their future back on track. The result? A collection of hand-knit winter accessories, including these Colorblock Mittens, that keep you warm during the dreary weather ahead while the proceeds help women abroad rebuild their lives. If that's not incentive to spread some Christmas joy this season despite your dismal paycheck, I don't know what is!

Hot In The Hive: Philosophy Winter Escape Set

What is it about festive drinks like hot apple cider and eggnog that gets me into the holiday mood (even when the unseasonable 70 degree weather outside is really betraying my pre-Christmas spirit)? No matter what the forecast, one sip of hot chocolate and I'm instantly transported out of my uncomfortable heels and straight to the ski lodge, all warm and cozy in a Snuggie (or not). But what's even better -- now you can enjoy the yummy winter-warmness of the season even in the shower! Philosophy's Winter Escape Set comes complete with a trio of peppermint hot chocolate-themed products: shower gel, lotion, and lip shine, all wrapped in an adorable winter cottage box. Sure, it's not the same as drinking cocoa by the fire (I'm pretty sure downing this won't taste good), but lathering up with anything cocoa and marshmallow-scented, paired with the comfy steaminess of your shower, is probably the next best thing! The set also makes a super cute gift to anyone who loves at-home pampering!

Hot In The Hive: Vazu Foldable Vases

The forever-old custom of giving flowers as gifts would be a whole lot easier if you didn't have to worry about the glass vase not surviving the car ride over to the housewarming party you're attending. Vases usually aren't cheap, they break too easily, and they take up lots of precious storage room when you're too busy to keep them full of fresh-picked flowers. Apparently the masterminds behind the Vazu Foldable Vase had the same frustrations regarding flower-giving. The Vazu vase comes flat in its package and expands to form a sturdy, free-standing vase that you can fill with water and put on display with your flower arrangement. When you're finished, it re-folds easily back into its package for simple storage, and at only $4.99, you can afford to give it as part of a gift -- no broken glass and no lending out your grandma's old vase with the chance you'll never get it back! It even comes in a ton of colorful patterns that can coordinate with any bouquet arrangement. Check out the selection at the Vazu site!

Price: $4.99 each

Hot In The Hive: iPhone App Coasters

Those of the slightly younger set may not know this, but before the iPod and Mac laptops, Apple was on the brink of being obsolete. They were associated with the huge, loud computers in the school library that you could only do research on or else the librarian would throw her glasses at you. The iPod is maybe the greatest comeback product in history. It not only brought Apple back from the brink, but ricocheted them to number one in technological gadgets. Now you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't have at least one Apple product laying around the house. I've had an a few of the iPod variation, but I'm actually lusting over the iPhone. Well, those at Apple must have felt bad for people like me who would love to jump on the iPhone band-wagon but, for whatever reason, have not. There are now iPhone app coasters that I can also put on my table, and for the fraction of the price! These coasters come in a set of 16 "apps" and are made of MDF plywood wrapped in a vinyl and varnish. A rubber back keeps it from moving around and they're washable and reusable! Ok, so they don't actually allow you to pull up the weather in Tunisia or give you a recipe for "Easy Chicken Bake" with just a click of a button, but they are awesome and fun! At $60 for the entire set, these make a great gift for the i-Aficionado or for those like me who just want to rub elbows with this elite i-Group!

Price: $60.00 for set of 16

Father's Day Presents For The Pampered Papa!

Father's Day is pretty much here and if you haven't gotten your dad a gift yet, you better get on it quick! Men in general are notoriously hard to shop for, and fathers are the hardest of the bunch to find a great gift to give. In an effort to solve this dilemma for ourselves, we've researched and written about numerous gift ideas and suggestions. Here is one more attempt to help find you that perfect Father's Day gift that is not a tie and that dad will love! If your father already seems to have everything, then get him something useful but completely superfluous! He probably has a couple of drugstore razors in his medicine cabinet. Why not get him a beautiful silver or wood finish shave set? I'm sure he already has a wallet, or maybe a money-clip, but perhaps a new soft Italian leather wallet will look even nicer! Women feel entitled to numerous pampering procedures, but men deserve the prince(ss) treatment from time to time too! Maybe a spa and massage session will help lift the stress off his shoulders... or perhaps he's a fashionable father and a great piece of statement jewelry is all he needs to add a little pep in his step! And what makes these luxe gifts even better is that they're from you, so check out the slideshow for some more great gift ideas to spoil your dad!

Father's Day Gifts For The Dad Who Has Everything

If buying my mom a good Mother's Day gift was challenging, buying a Father's Day gift is nearly impossible! Already, there is a sharp decrease in the amount of beauty products, jewelry, apparel and fragrances that are marketed for men. My dad already has everything that he wants and if he doesn't have it, it probably means he can't afford it and if he can't afford it, I definitely can't! So year after year, right about now, I start racking my brains for something that is cool, unique and re-usable. After extensive research and many tiring hours of online shopping, I have come up with a list for myself as well as anyone else who has a hard father to shop for. From the quirky but practical, like a front-pocket wallet to help relieve dad's back stress and deter pick-pockets or a sweet and sentimental personalized photo night-light, you'll be able to find something for you dad who has everything! Your dad would probably buy you the moon if he could. Well, you can beat him to it and buy him an acre of celestial land, complete with a deed and documents! Workaholics, wine aficionados, gourmet gardeners and all those in between, check out this slideshow for some original Father's Day gifts that your doting dad is sure to love!

Gifts for Grads: Frame the Memories!

Looking for a perfect gift for the graduate in your life? Nothing could be more personal than framing a favorite photo as a gift, especially for high school grads headed off to college. I'm sure you agree - taking the time to print and frame a digital picture can take some serious effort, and is something that often is put at the bottom of the to-do list. That's why I love this photo collage frame from personalizationmall.com: you can pick any one-line message and it is lasered into a matboard. Just print a few photos for the back! Tip: it looks even cuter when you let one photo cut across two letters. For something a little simpler for the green-loving grad, what about the Mariposa recycled aluminum frame? It's glamorous and eco-friendly! Check out my slide show for other great photo frame gifts for grads!
