Label Love - Viktor & Rolf S/S 2011

When one anticipates a Viktor & Rolf show, it's expected that their will be outrageous pieces, crazy silhouettes and unexpected details that will challenge you ideas on conventional fashion, or at the very least, make you sit up and take notice. Their latest S/S 2011 runway collection was no exception, with pieces seemingly inspired by Alice in Wonderland on even more hallucinogens and in the midst of a huge Mad-Hatter hosted wedding reception.

Vertical striped of bold blue and shiny red, oversized shoulders, exaggerated asymmetry and multiple, enlarged cuffs and other whimsical details made the collection truly unique and gave it a healthy dose of fun, which is signature for Viktor & Rolf. But once you get past the humor and eccentricities, it's obvious that these garments are full of intricate details and true skill and talent in the construction. Personal loves were the shirt dresses in varying styles and the frothy use of fabric and ruching. Satin fabrics were made into crazy wedding-style gowns that looked appropriate for the weddings of the likes of Rihanna or Lady Gaga, especially the finale piece.

Viktor & Rolf S/S 2011 collection is one piece of art after another and while many of the ensembles seemed too outrageous for everday wear, many of the pieces, when separated, are completely wearable for the fashion conscious! Click the slideshow to see some Viktor & Rolf S/S 2011 faves!

Label Love - Calvin Klein RTW 2011

The master of minimalist chic, American designer, Calvin Klein continues to impress with his sleek and simple, but fashion-forward and flattering designs. For one that has built an empire on a look that is clean and completely uncluttered, it is truly amazing that this many years later, each of his collections still brings something new to the table, or runway, if you will.

His recent Ready-to-Wear 2011 show was no exception. While a minimalistic approach often takes on a Zen-like, Asian-inspired flair, Klein kept the correlation fresh and different. A streamlined palette of black and white featured billowing fabrics for wide, slouchy pant legs and loosely draped dresses. Looks included menswear inspired slacks, tunic tops and over-sized blazers balanced, out with plunging necklines and draped, floaty layering pieces. Dolman sleeves and shiny silks, as well as bias cuts and simple sheath dresses in varying pops of bright solids further enhanced the fluid and feminine feel.

An expert mix of lady-like menswear inspired looks and classically wearable, but still fashion forward pieces paraded down the runway at Calvin Klein's RTW 2011 runway show. Click the slideshow to see some favorites!

Label Love - Chanel 2011 Resort Collection

Chanel is, and has been, a big-name design house for a very long time. This means that when Fashion Week rolls around, Karl Lagerfeld and the Chanel designers are making multiple collections - Couture, RTW, Resort - and having to make sure each collection is striking, memorable, fashion-forward, lust-worthy and cohesive within itself.

So while the Chanel Couture show deserves much praise, the Resort Collection for 2011 is getting mixed reviews. Mostly because the collection itself is a huge mix bag of hits and misses. The extensive collection was featured outside with the hottest 'it' models, including Karolina Kurkova and Abbey Lee Kershaw, barefoot and relaxed. The runway theme suited the resort feel perfectly, but the over-all theme of the collection was lost. A literal take on styles that were part Karate Kid, part 70s flashback and with a healthy dose of pajama-esque pieces and Western-inspired garb, the resort collection sent down one confusing look after the other.

Of course, being Chanel, the 'hits' were amazing and covetable, with sassy swimwear, ethereal beach dresses and the labels signature tweed fabrication used in a range of luxurious, vacation-ready looks. Although there was no obvious color scheme, the palette was bright, sophisticated and perfect for spring. However, the misses far out-weighed the hits and one has to wonder, did creative genius, Karl Lagerfeld, have his wig on a little too tight?

Get The Winning Look From Our London Fashion Week Celeb Poll!

It's the Fashion Week part of the year and recently at London Fashion Week, some major stars and celebs turned out to see designer's latest looks and to show off their own styles. Super-model, Elle MacPherson, showed up at the Julien MacDonald show in a sleek and edgy outfit of all black skinny jeans, ankle boots and cropped leather bomber, looking amazing as always. Style maven, Alexa Chung, chose to wear a sleek and simple silk shirt dress paired with her signature cross-body bag to the Burberry Prorsum show and definitely did not disappoint.

However, it was America's style sweetheart that won majority of your votes and is this weeks celeb style winner. At the same Burberry Prorsum runway show, Sarah Jessica Parker showed up in a chocolate brown lacy, ruffled skirt that was feminine and chic, and balanced it out with a classic camel leather jacket featuring heavy button detailing. Strappy leather heels also played up her girly-but-edgy vibe and a pale pink purse was just the right amount of flirty and sophisticated. The addition of a few eye-catching statement rings kept her accessorizing head-turning but not over-powering. Love SJP's Burberry ensemble? Channeling Lauren Hutton in Halston Heritage

Brought to you by our friends from!

We are in love with Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week's new locale in Lincoln Center. So much so the excitement conjures up another hey-day in the city that never sleeps - Studio 54, dahling! Similar to NYFW, it was the place to see and be seen, where the society, the arts and fashion came together to create this dazzling and exciting epoch. With disco on the brain, the iconic 1970€™s designer Halston comes to mind, worn by his gals, Lauren Hutton, Bianca Jagger and Anjelica Huston- whom all referred to him as 'Ash' (how the French pronounce the letter €œH€). Today, Marios Schwab has taken over the label and launched Halston Heritage, a collection that features reproductions of archival Halston pieces. Schwab designed the collection to €œecho the heritage but with a very distinctive, modern feel that is completely new and completely now.'' This description totally applies to none-other than Halston€™s iconic muse and €œit€ girl Lauren Hutton. Hutton is known for her adventurous spirit, having wrestled alligators, traversed the Arctic in a dog sled and spent time with African tribesman and is still going strong. She continues to empower women of all ages today and is still working as an actress and model. According to Hutton, €œWe have to be able to grow up. Our wrinkles are our medals of the passage of life. They are what we have been through and who we want to be.€ The Halston Heritage collection mimics such modernity making it the perfect fit for ladies of any age. We decided to channel disco's glory days and picked quite the contemporary look right from the Halston Heritage RTW collection, so you to can love the nightlife and get your boggie oggie-oggie on.

To see more looks from the Halston Heritage line, check it out at Bergdorf Goodman.
