Vintage Fashionistas Savor Gray This Season!

When searching for vintage clothing online, it's important that you use the right keywords to find what you want. And heaven forbid you're looking for something gray, because well, there's gray (the American spelling) and then there's grey (the British spelling). Of course, since vintage clothing sellers on both sides of the pond spell this color both ways without any sensible rhyme or reason, the wise online vintage shopper knows to plug both spellings into their search engines. If you do, you'll be rewarded with a smorgasbord of vintage treats in this classic, conservative neutral. Try substituting darker charcoal shades of gray for black. Or choose pale shades of gray to take the place of white. Morning, noon or night, for dresses, coats or evening gowns, gray is a fabulous wardrobe choice for a vintage fashionista. Rihanna, Iman, Amy, Or Katharine: Who Wowed At Glamour's Women Of The Year Event?

You know you've reached the height of inner and outer beauty when you're honored by the likes of Glamour Magazine as one of their proclaimed Women Of The Year. The annual event, which honors twelve women of all ages and walks of life, took place at New York City's Carnegie Hall for its 2009 edition. Among its impressive array of honorees were Rihanna and Amy Poehler, who seemed humble to be in one another's presence, yet looked equally fabulous upon arrival! After all, if you're going to be in the company of such iconic women as Maya Angelou and Maria Shriver, the least you can do is be on your style A-game! Lending fellow ladies their support were supermodel Iman and Katharine McPhee, who were also gorgeous in their evening attire... but they can't all be deemed best dressed! Vote below on which lady took the fashion lead! Photo Credit: PR Photos

Vintage Fashionistas Prepare Their Thanksgiving Feasts in Style

So Turkey Day is a just a few weeks away, and maybe your family allows you to wear Uggs to the dinner table. But maybe not. Maybe you're going to be meeting his parents for the first time this year. Or maybe it's your turn to channel Martha Stewart and host all the relatives at your place for the first time. Maybe you want to be thankful while feeling confident and looking great. (And certainly looking great will help you feel more confident!) If so, then you'll love this selection of dresses for the Thanksgiving Hostess-with-the-Mostest. After consuming waaaaay too many calories, these knit and jersey beauties will still be comfortable. And, if you do happen to dribble a bit of cranberry sauce on their deep, rich prints, no one will notice. And that makes them perfect Thanksgiving Day dresses for vintage fashionistas. Camilla Belle Wears Alexander McQueen Spring 2010

At the debut of the futuristic dystopian flick "2012," Camilla Belle bravely donned an Alexander McQueen creation from his Spring 2010 collection, which premiered in Paris a few weeks ago. The entire Alexander McQueen collection featured a futuristic look and reptilian themed prints. Belle's dress was a short dress with a puff-ball skirt and gem trim on the sleeves. She wisely accessorized this attention-grabber of a dress with a minimal theme in mind. A simple bangle, plain earrings, and nude platform heels ensured that accessories would not compete with the dress. It would be easy to overdo it with chains or diamonds or "look-at-me" shoes. Also in attendance at the movie premiere was American Idol season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert. The soundtrack to the movie features his song "Time for Miracles." Critics describe the song as "perfect" for the movie in which the world faces a huge cataclysmic event and those left have to fight for survival. Written by Roland Emmerich and Harald Kloser, the movie's cast includes John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Thandie Newton. Woody Harrelson and Danny Glover are also included in the cast of thousands. The film premiered November 4 in Los Angeles. This week it is scheduled for release in Belgium, France, and the UK. CollegeCandy Wishlist: ASOS Draped Dress

When you're on a budget, you can't spend your money on just anything. You need items that are versatile, timeless and just plain pretty. And this beautiful dress from ASOS is all that and more. It is short, yet it reveals just enough skin with its strapless design for hitting those clubs on Saturday night. Put on some sexy, strappy heels and you are ready to conquer the dance floor. When the party's over, work this dress in a different way. Got a holiday party coming up? Slip it on with a pair of pumps and clutch. A nice family dinner to attend? Put a blazer over the top and you'r good to go. Wanna rock it out? Add a leather jacket, tights and a pair of ankle boots. Unlike most mini dresses, this ASOS design is anything but typical. I really love the contrast created by the light drape, especially the way it crosses the bust to the waistline and then back over again on the bottom. With this dress in your closet you'll have the solution to every wardrobe dilemma. Whether it's a birthday party or a wedding, this dress is the answer! Check out CollegeCandy for other holiday season wardrobe staples!

Top 10 Fabulous Bustier Dresses That Mix Structure With Sexiness

I don't care what my credit card statement reads -- I say it's never too early to pick out the perfect New Year's Eve dress (unless you plan to really let yourself go at the dinner table this holiday season -- yikes)! What I'm really loving for the cocktail party season ahead is bustier dresses -- a little reminiscent of Madonna's "Like A Virgin" days (in a cool way, of course), yet updated with more subtle hidden boning, chiffon layers, and fun florals and lace. Bustiers juxtapose conservative structure with a snug fit that without revealing too much, yet unlike an old-fashioned corset, you can actually breathe. Blur the lines between girly and edgy with this studded belt bustier from Forever 21, or go full-on flirty with this floaty strapless sheath by Donna Morgan. Browse through the slideshow for a selection of my favorite 10 bustier dresses!

Vintage Fashionistas Cheer For Pink And Orange!

You don't need to be a genius to determine that I am not a big fan of pink, based on a quick peek into my closet. Or orange, for that matter. So it's hard for me to explain why I squeal with delight when I see these two colors together. I guess sometimes what seems like two fashion wrongs can actually make a big fashion right! And lots of folks agree. Like Jonathan Adler, for instance, who believes there's no better way to banish the blues than with this bright color combination. Or Alexander Girard and so many other designers in the 1960s who married these two tangy shades in home decor and advertising as well as in fashion. Today's slideshow features some outstanding vintage examples of this zesty color pairing, which is like putting on an instant good mood (or enjoying a nice big scoop of rainbow sherbet). Who can possibly stay dreary while wearing something this bright and cheery? Click the slideshow to get inspired!

7 Seriously Alluring (And Wearable!) Leather Mini Dresses

Fashionistas just can't get enough of leather this fall. Moto jacket? Check. Fingerless driving gloves? Check. Liquid leggings? Check, once you work up the nerve to actually wear them. But one thing you may have yet to add to your autumn trend arsenal is a leather dress! I know it sounds risky, since prior to this recent leather invasion you probably associate the material mostly with biker babes and dominatrices, but you may be surprised to find that this season's leather LBDs aren't overdramatic. Instead, the latest leather minis simply provide a sexy sheen to otherwise modest silhouettes like this Gryphon smock dress and this shift dress from Alice + Olivia. Pair with a killer set of ankle booties for your next dressy night out, or add some serious sparkle with a bib necklace and you've got yourself a New Years Eve ensemble (hey, it's never too early to plan ahead)! Check the slideshow for some of my favorite leather dresses.

Add Just A Little Coverage With A Long Sleeved Mini Dress

The long sleeved mini dress is an absolute must have for Fall 2009. It's the perfect combination of comfortable and chic. With the cooler weather already here, tube dresses or sleeveless mini dresses, while cute, could leave you feeling like a human popsicle. A little more length in the sleeve does wonders and stores and designers like Mango and Topshop are offering a number of sexy but weather appropriate styles for you to choose from. You can match a lot of different shoes with these dresses, like ballet flats or nice boots. Click over to Girlscene to see a few of our favorite long-sleeved mini dresses!

Style Flashback: Lisa Turtle From 'Saved by the Bell'

Jessie Spano was the brains and Kelly Kapowski was the beauty, but it was Lisa Turtle who had all the style. Saved by the Bell's resident style expert and gossip queen was sassy with sophisticated taste -- heck, she was even accepted into the Fashion Institute of Technology on the show's finale. But could we pull off her over-the-top look? To the rescue with some tips on making it work: our in-house fashion expert Brian. Brian says Lisa's wild style is back in a big way with graphic fit-and-flare dresses and light-wash denim jackets. Turn down the volume on her high-intensity style by sticking to tamer prints with fewer colors. Check out more of Lisa Turtle's style by clicking over to our friends at Lemondrop!
