Monochromes and dull tones, go home! Sue Wong lavished vibrant hues on her showcase of 75 impeccably constructed, visually stunning dresses in the main tent at this week's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles.

The show stayed true to its Modern Art moniker. Models strutted down the celebrity-lined runway with geometrically styled hair, some balancing sculptural installations on their heads, turning the girls into abstract canvases and the runway into a hip gallery.

Dresses embodied youthful glamor, as simple shapes were adorned with intricate beadwork and detailing. Mod minidresses and floor-sweeping gowns with Pucci-esque prints dominated the collection, and Wong€™s experimentation with mixing textures was a hit.

Highlights of the show included a bridal gown dripping with paillettes, a candy-colored dress with a confetti-like garnish on its gathered balloon hem, and a peach-colored solid chiffon gown that was just as old Hollywood as it was contemporary chic.

The final layer was the makeup provided by M.A.C., where fluorescent lips gave an unexpected punch to the runways.

But Wong has mastered the unexpected, so you would expect nothing less.
