We can't get enough of the fresh Finnish designers bringing a nontraditional eye to today's fashion and design.
Last week we interviewed funky fashion designer Tiia Vanhatapio. Today we're profiling Helsinki housewares and accessories designer Maija Puoskari, who creates, among other things, floor tiles indented with animal footprints, a pillow made of clay, and rings glued with animal hair to look human eyelashes!Maijia usually goes with a simple formula: white ceramic, simple shapes, and clean lines - but always with a twist. As she says, "As a designer my passion lies in trying and testing new solutions for simple everyday needs where function and beauty are of paramount importance."Other standouts include super cute red and white tea light holders and a serving dish that looks like a sheet of ice. You can check them all out in this out-of-this-world SLIDESHOW.Where In The Hive: bookmark Who: emikw was the first to add Maija Puoskari
