Tina Patient and JanJay Sherman are two twenty-something fashionistas struggling to make it into the beauty biz on the new reality show The Fashionista Diaries, premiering tonight on SoapNet.

Both are working for a high-powered female exec at one of Stylehive€™s favorite makeup makers, FLIRT! cosmetics, and trying to make it in New York City on piddly assistant salaries. But from the way they talk, working for FLIRT! is a bed of roses compared to the fashion world.

€œFashion is much more competitive,€� Tina, who has interned for several labels, tells Stylehive. €œBeauty is much more relaxed.€� JanJay, who has also had internships in fashion, agrees: €œI thought my boss would be meaner! Fashion is cut throat. Everyone who has positions of power guards them very tightly, so it€™s not as friendly.€�

But that doesn€™t mean they€™re not freaking out as they prepare for the company€™s - and the show€™s - biggest event of the year, New York Fashion Week. €œI€™m nervous for fashion week,€� Janjay whispers. €œI don€™t know what we€™re doing yet. You€™ll have to tune in!€�
