The end of Sex and the City left a gaping hole in our television schedule and we, like you, have clung to those late night reruns and DVD sets for our fashionable chick fix. Now, NBC has announced that smart and sexy is making a comeback!
The hotly anticipated new series, "Lipstick Jungle," based on Candace Bushnell's best-selling novel about three high-powered friends weathering New York's fast lane, is set to premiere February 7!Brooke Shields (Suddenly Susan), Kim Raver (24) and Lindsay Price (Beverly Hills, 90210) star as a trifecta of super-girls working and living at the top of their game in the Big Apple as they climb the ladder in the type of careers we all want to have. Shields is the red-hot movie exec momma trying to balance work and family, while Raver's the uber-chic fashionista with her eye on the CEO spot. Free-spirited Price is a high profile designer hoping to make her dreams come true and fall in love, with plenty of bites into the Big Apple scene for our eager little eyes. It picks up a little where SATC left off with cool, sexy and smart characters, only this time they're on Most Powerful Women lists and set to win Oscars. So expect bigger, better apartments and more importantly, shoe and handbag collections. We are loving the new trend of women-oriented, hipster fashionista shows on TV lately. Between this and Gossip Girl, America's Top Model and Project Runway, we so own the flat panels. The sultry new series also stars former 80s heart throb Andrew McCarthy, Julian Sands of 24, and David Norona from Frasier, and is produced by the same crew behind our other favorite shows Ugly Betty and West Wing.... Whatever. We're in it for the fashion. See the premiere on Thursday, February 7 (10-11pm ET).
