It€™s funny how the fashion forward often get their style inspiration by looking back. Today's controversial high-waisted look, worn by celebs from Scarlett Johansson to Jessica Simpson, is the perfect example.

Which got the editors here at Stylehive thinking back on their idyllic childhoods, full of high-waisted jean-loving stars. So we€™ve brought back our Top 10 High Waisted Heroes - the stars who did the hard-to-pull-off high-waisted look total justice.

Hive Tip: Think you have what it takes to button your fly at your belly button? Like any trend, it€™s not for everyone, but if you have a defined waist, go for it! Still a little anxious about this rising look? A high-waisted pencil skirt is flattering on nearly everyone. Even Tom Selleck.

Hero #1: Farrah Fawcett
Who could forget Farrah Fawcett€™s high-waisted jeans in Charlie€™s Angels? Something tells me that this move wouldn€™t go so well if she had been wearing a super low-rise pair... smart girl.

Hero #2: Scarlett Johansson
At the 2006 Imitation of Christ show, the star rocked the runway in dark denim, a contrasting black top to balance the look, and red lips and heels for extra glam. Many peg the trend's rebirth to Scarlett's star turn.

Carrie looks effortlessly stylish in high-waisted slacks but keeps the look casual on top. The heels are an obvious and necessary addition. Bonus points for the pinstripes!
