Jennifer Egan is Gen Art's Los Angeles uber talent scout. She put together the indie design powerhouse's New Garde show last month, featuring three amazingly talented, up-and-coming designers: Jess Kamm, JMary, and Les Sang Des Betes' Trang Chau. Eschewing the runway in favor of three still life tableaux Jen termed "dynamic installations," the event was equal parts fashion show, and, given the designers' avant garde leanings, performance art opening.
