To be a supermodel, you€™ve gotta have it all: great pics, a killer walk, versatility, a great attitude, and most of all a thick skin. The first Make Me A Supermodel castoff, Sarah, didn€™t have the versatility, castoff two, Dominic, was lacking in the walk and attitude departments, castoff three, Aryn, needed to toughen up that skin, and the most recent bootee Jay, learned that his killer walk couldn€™t compensate for his poor picture-taking skills. It was pretty tough to see Jay, who always had a smile on his face and took all the feedback he got to heart with the strong intention of improving for the next challenge, get the boot this week, but that€™s Modelwood!
Stylehive just spoke to the latest Supermodel casualty, and we were pleased to learn his positive attitude and upbeat spirit were still fully intact. Read on to see what Jay told us about his experience on the show, regrets, who should win, and what€™s next for him. Stylehive: What the overall Make Me a Supermodel experience like for you?Jay: It was a beautiful experience, a wonderful opportunity. I got to work with the best of the best, I learned as much as I could. I wish I could learn a whole lot more but for now I€™m just gonna move forward and pursue my modeling career as much as I can. I have no regrets. Stylehive: What were your thoughts on being in the bottom 3?
Jay: I knew I probably would be in the bottom 3 because I had the catwalk pretty much down pat. I knew what I lacked in going into it was photo shoots because I never did photo shoots. I pretty much did fashion shows. So anytime a photo shoot would come I would try my best to give off different facial expressions, just try and get as much feedback and as much information as possible going into it. And every time I looked at the pictures I just knew it wasn€™t good enough to be at the top, so every time I looked at it, I always told myself €˜okay, the photo isn€™t good enough, I€™ve gotta give 150% at the catwalk,€™ and that€™s what I always did. But every time I did I knew the catwalk wasn€™t always gonna save me. Stylehive: What was it like getting to walk on the runway during New York Fashion Week?
Jay: Every time you go into what you need to do you always have those butterflies going- so the butterflies were there, but as soon as I stepped on the catwalk it was like €˜okay, it€™s time to work€™ I gotta show em what I€™m here for, I gotta show that I am here with the best of the best and I can walk this catwalk. It was wonderful because I always dreamed about walking at fashion week at Bryant Park, so I was just happy to be there, and to get as much feedback from everybody as I could, so it was really fun. Stylehive: Who do you think deserves to win?
Jay: It€™s hard because I wish we all could win, but I€™d say the person that probably wants it the hardest and the most would be Katy. She€™s been in the bottom three a whole lot of times, and they€™ve been knocking her down but she€™s still getting up and still trying her best to show them that she€™s there for a reason. She€™s always working out, even though she probably eats, but it takes a while for you to try to change your diet, but she€™s been improving and I can see the improvement in her, and I can see the improvement in her catwalk and in the photo shoots. She wants it real bad, even though people have been telling her she€™s not supermodel material, but she kept getting back on her feet and kept on trucking so she could get through it, so I€™m really impressed with her. She€™s not a quitter, she€™s a fighter, and I love that in her, because I€™m a fighter too. Stylehive: What€™s next for you?
Jay: Right now I€™m letting all the doors open up as much as possible and just trying my best to get out there and just wait for the offers to come in. If the offers come in I€™ll try my best and ask God to show me which offer I should take and just keep moving forth from that. But I will not stop because a lot of people told me I had inspired them to follow their dream and that€™s what I wanted to do. I wanted to inspire people that your dreams can come true, because mine came true. Especially in Chicago, coming from where I came from, you don€™t have to be on the block every day selling drugs or stuff like that, you can follow your dream. If you got a dream just keep pushing for it and you will get it, and that€™s what I€™m here for, so I can€™t let my people down!
